Luke Hohmann, Founder and CEO

Luke is a recognized expert on agile product management of software products and a former senior software product manager at four companies. He is also the author of three books and numerous articles on software product management. He is also a frequent speaker at software and other industry events.

Before founding Enthiosys in 2003, Luke was vice president of business development in the U.S. for Aladdin Knowledge Systems; vice president of engineering and product development at Aurigin Systems Inc.; education technical director at ObjectSpace Inc.; and vice president of systems engineering at EDS Fleet Services.

He loves his job, and is happiest when he’s helping his clients build great products and services. He’s especially enjoys watching clients get excited about creating new products and services as the result of playing Innovation Games® with their customers, integrating these into new product development practices, and creating them through architecturally sustainable Agile methods.

Luke’s counsel is sought far and wide. He is currently a member of the Agile Alliance, having been involved for more than a decade in the Agile community. He is also a senior advisor to OpenView Venture Partners. Luke has been a featured presenter at numerous conferences including the Software Development Best Practices 2006 and 2007 conferences, aGile 2007 / 2008 / 2009, The Spring Experience, and The Better Software Conference & Expo. He has also been a guest lecturer at the University of California at Berkeley’s School of Information. He is a member of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and the IEEE.

Luke graduated magna cum laude with a B.S.E. in computer engineering and an M.S.E. in computer science and engineering from the University of Michigan. In addition to data structures and artificial intelligence, he studied cognitive psychology and organizational behavior. He is also a former National Junior Pairs Figure Skating Champion, as well as a certified aerobics instructor. In his spare time, Luke likes roughhousing with his four kids and his wife’s cooking. He also enjoys long runs in the Santa Cruz mountains to burn off his wife’s cooking.

Jason joined Enthiosys as a Senior Consultant in 2008 and has over 18 years of professional experience with software companies, a telecommunications company and the Marine Corps. His expertise spans Agile software product management, product marketing, business planning, partner management, project management and leadership.

As general manager in his most recent position, Jason held responsibility for all aspects of an IT chargeback product including product management, product marketing, pre/post-sales support and training. He worked with multiple clients ranging from Fortune 500 enterprises to government agencies to universities enabling their adoption of new technology and methods to optimize their IT organizations.

His prior position with a startup software company included experience migrating from waterfall to Agile development methods. Jason collaborated closely with engineering to integrate product management into the Agile workflow.

Jason is an active member of the Agile User Group in Research Triangle Park, the Triangle Product Management Association in Raleigh, NC and the North Carolina Council for Entrepreneurial Development. He frequently speaks for the Product Management View webinar series, at user group meetings and for the Atlanta Agile Project Leadership Network.

He holds a BS degree in mechanical and aeronautical engineering from Cornell University and a MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship from Duke

Dan O’Leary

Dan joins Enthiosys with over 20 years experience in commercial software experience including 10 years focused on mission critical enterprise software products. At Callidus Software, Dan rose from a member of the initial engineering team to VP Engineering, where he built a high performance rule-based enterprise incentive management system (TrueComp) currently in use by over 150 global enterprises. His engineering team and as individual contributor delivered the architecture and product feature set for 2 major releases then led a group of up to 50 engineers through 4 major releases supporting customers across manufacturing, telecommunications, life sciences, banking, financial services and insurance verticals. Prior to Callidus, Dan was a staff engineer at Sun Microsystems where he designed and built development tools supporting Java/C++ development as well as a multi-site configuration management system (TeamWare) used by the Solaris development team in addition to many other external customers. Dan holds four software patents related to his work at Sun. At EDS Research Labs, he worked on an object oriented development language and environment supporting rule-based expert systems development. Dan has a M.S.E. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Computer Science with honors (summa cum laude) from Western Michigan University.

To provide superior expertise on agile product management to our clients, we have more than a dozen senior consultants and industry veterans engaged with clients on important projects. As a group, Enthiosys senior consultants have more than two centuries of technology and product expertise.

Jeff Brantley

Jeff is a Senior Consultant with Enthiosys with a focus on core product management and agile transformation activities including: product strategy, product line and portfolio prioritization, innovation games, market maps and technical roadmaps, and agile coaching and training. His 20+ years of experience include technical product roles at multinationals, product and marketing leadership at start-ups and service companies, sales and consulting roles with many tech companies.

Jeff started in corporate sales and then moved into corporate sales training to help Best Buy and CompuUSA fulfill their aggressive expansion throughout the US in the early nineties.  Always a “product guy” at heart, Jeff earned his masters degree from Texas A&M and broke into product management and marketing in the emerging high-tech sector in Austin in the mid-90s. Jeff spent several years with IBM/Tivoli Systems as a Senior Product Manager for one of the core products and then moved into Product Management and Marketing leadership positions in several Austin venture-funded start-ups and other enterprise software companies such as Vignette Corporation and Borland Software.  While at Borland Jeff drove the product management teams and the overall portfolio roadmapping effort, as well as led the research on the evolution of overall product suite pricing and business model framework.

Jeff also served as VP of Marketing for the largest independent propane company in Texas, where he managed the full re-branding and re-launch of the corporate identity and helped map out a process for understanding the impact of marketing efforts on profitability and on customer attraction/retention.

In addition to his years of experience as an Enthiosys Senior Consultant, Jeff is involved in efforts to increase children’s engagement in math, science and robotics engineering. He has also served as a faculty member for DeVry University.  Jeff lives with his wife and three sons in the Silicon Hills of Austin, Texas.
